BRADD ACCEPTS CHALLENGE

Bowling Green, KY, October 18, 2017– The Barren River Area Development District (BRADD) is
partnering with the Secretary of State and KY Food Banks in the first ever Commonwealth Bowl of
Kentucky October 16th, 2017 – October 27th, 2017. This competition is between KY’s 15 Area
Development Districts and the challenge is to raise 400,000 pounds of food or $50,000.

Did you know 700,000 Kentuckians struggle with food every day? 22% of children
lack consistent access to enough food for a healthy, active lifestyle.

There are two simple ways YOU can HELP! Donate food by dropping off nonperishable food items to the
BRADD office Monday – Friday, 8am – 4:30pm or call Caleb at 270-781-2381 to arrange pickup. We are
located at 177 Graham Avenue in Bowling Green, KY. The second way to help is to donate funds. $1.00
equals 8 pounds of food. You can donate online at http://kafb.org/take-action/donate-funds/ during
the campaign and type BRADD Commonwealth Bowl in the designation or you can drop funds off at
BRADD. Additionally, BRADD staff will be set up at Bowling Green Kroger locations on the final day,
Friday, October 27th, 2017 from 2pm – 5:30pm collecting canned items as customers complete their
shopping.
