Long post ahead recognizing the hard work of our student interns, and wishing them the best in their next adventures! 🎉Nora and McKenna are both seniors in the social work program at WKU, and have both been an essential part of BRADD's success in their time with us.McKenna has been engaged this semester with our Anchor Project - our groundbreaking regional response to substance use and mental health crises. She's attended our Opioid Advisory Committee meetings, been trained on Narcan administration, attended Mental health and Aging Conference planning meetings, elder abuse prevention council meetings, and has been a vital resource in assisting with home visits and working directly with our case management team. Her main focus has been on attending home visits and working directly with our case management team to learn more about client reassessments and care plans, as well as working more directly with culturally diverse clients. McKenna attended the Senior Resource Summit to learn more about aging resources in the 10 county area and has attended BRADD board meetings and SOKY Veterans Council Meetings.Nora has been an exceptional student intern as well - a master of multitasking, she's learned how to take on a case manager role, making monthly contacts with clients, assisting with home visits, doing satisfaction surveys for client programs, and revising meal tickets for our home delivered meal clients. She's been many clients' first contact, answering and documenting calls in our client software, and helping the Aging and Disability Resource Center stay on top of call back listings. She's helped with our Senior Center Monitoring, attended Mental Health and Aging Conference planning meetings, BRADD Board meetings, SOKY Veterans Council Meetings, and leader abuse prevention council meetings, showing up every day ready to learn something new and work hard to improve the region. After graduation, Nora plans to jump right into the field and McKenna will be heading to Law School at Texas A&M University.Nora and McKenna, we're so proud of you both! ...
